SUMMARY:Castalian String Quartet
DESCRIPTION:“A powerful individuality of sound matched by an instinctive singularity of musical intention” — The Scotsman \n\n\n\nFormed in 2011\, the Castalian String Quartet has distinguished itself as one of today’s most dynamic young quartets. Appointed the inaugural Hans Keller String Quartet in Residence at the Oxford University Faculty of Music in 2021\, it also received the Royal Philharmonic Society’s 2019 Young Artists Award. \n\n\n\nThe name is derived from the Castalian Spring in the ancient city of Delphi. In mythology\, the nymph Castalia transformed herself into a fountain to evade Apollo\, creating a source of poetic inspiration for all who drink from her waters. \n\n\n\nPROGRAM \n\n\n\n\nBeethoven – Quartet in B-flat Major\, Op. 130\n\n\n\nJanáček – Quartet No. 1\, “Kreutzer Sonata”\n\n\n\nMendelssohn – Quartet No. 6 in F minor\, Op. 80\n\n\n\n\n\nBUY TICKETS

SUMMARY:Merz Trio
DESCRIPTION:Image Credit: Dimitri Mais\n\n\n\nHailing from opposite corners of the globe\, the members of the Merz Trio met in the middle of a snow storm in NYC in December 2016\, and now spend the majority of their lives together\, rehearsing and traveling. \n\n\n\nTheir rehearsal room is a noisy fusion of interests: music of all varieties\, literature\, theater\, cooking\, dance\, running\, unnecessarily snobbish ideas about beverages. They love this messiness. They play in living rooms and large halls; galleries and schools; black box theaters and crypts. There are very few places the trio does not feel at home. \n\n\n\nPROGRAM \n\n\n\n\nBrahms – Trio No. 2 in C Major\, Op. 87\n\n\n\nBrahms – Trio No. 3 in C minor\, Op. 101\n\n\n\nBrahms – Trio No. 1 in B Major\, Op. 8\n\n\n\n\n\nBUY TICKETS ONLINE\n\n\n\n\nPlease see our Tickets page for additional ways to buy tickets.

SUMMARY:Escher String Quartet with Jordan Bak\, viola
DESCRIPTION:Like artist M.C. Escher\, for whom it is named\, the Escher String Quartet creates its own ‘impossible constructions’\, simultaneously showcasing each instrument’s part while melding them into one\, offering audiences unusual views and new perspectives. As The Guardian noted\, the ensemble displays “fabulous unanimity\, tonal warmth and care over detail.” \n\n\n\n\n\nJordan Bak has achieved international acclaim as a trailblazing artist\, praised for his radiant stage presence\, dynamic interpretations\, and fearless power. Only the third violist to earn the Artist Diploma from The Juilliard School\, Bak currently serves as Assistant Professor at Bowling Green State University. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nImage Credit: Dario Acosta \n\n\n\n\n\nPROGRAM \n\n\n\n\nMendelssohn – Quartet No. 1 in E-flat Major\, Op. 12\n\n\n\nJanáček – Quartet No. 2\, “Intimate Letters”\n\n\n\nBrahms – Quintet No. 2 in G Major\, Op. 111\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBUY TICKETS ONLINE\n\n\n\n\nPlease see our Tickets page for additional ways to buy tickets.

SUMMARY:Le Consort
DESCRIPTION:Image credit: Julien Benhamou\n\n\n\nBBC Music Magazine has applauded Le Consort performances as “ravishing\, exhilarating\, and uniquely beautiful.” In 2017\, just a year after its founding\, the ensemble won both First Prize and the Audience Prize at the Loire Valley International Early Music Competition. \n\n\n\nIts mission is to illuminate compelling musical personalities of chamber music from the 17th and 18th centuries\, the dialogue between the two violins and the basso continuo\, displaying a wealth of contrasts between vocality\, sensuality\, and virtuosity. \n\n\n\nLe Consort takes this genre\, the quintessence of the Baroque\, and interprets it with a personal\, dynamic\, and colorful language. \n\n\n\nPROGRAM: \n\n\n\n\n“From Naples to London\, ” a musical journey featuring works by Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750)\n\n\n\nArcangelo Corelli (1653-1713)\,\n\n\n\nJohn Eccles (1668-1735)\,\n\n\n\nNicola Matteis (1650-1714)\n\n\n\nMrs. Philharmonica (fl. 1715)\n\n\n\nHenry Purcell (1659-1695)\n\n\n\nFrancesco Maria Veracini (1690-1768)\n\n\n\nAntonio Vivaldi (1678-1741)\n\n\n\n\n\nORDER TICKETS

SUMMARY: Valencia Baryton Project
