Academy of St Martin in the Fields Wind Ensemble
Sunday, April 16 at 3:30 pm
The Academy of St Martin in the Fields is one of the world’s premier chamber orchestras, known for its fresh, brilliant interpretations. The wind ensemble is a specially created group composed of principal players of the orchestra.
Pianist Caroline Palmer joins these artists to share with the audience what the Milwaukee Sentinel wonderfully described as a “good reason to turn off the stereo and go to a real live concert.”
- Poulenc – Trio for Oboe, Bassoon, and Piano, FP 43
- Molbe – “Air Arabe”
- Glinka – Trio Pathetique
- Schulhoff – Divertissement for oboe, clarinet, and bassoon
- Beethoven – Quintet for Piano and Winds in E-flat Major, Op. 16
This concert is generously sponsored by Stephen E. Pickett and Elizabeth Matthias.
(Please note that Simon Crawford-Phillips, originally announced as pianist for this concert, will not be on the program.)
